There are many positive
and negative information in the internet nowadays.Ultimately, it is the
consumer who will discover the truth. A product is only as good as its
efficacy. If Colloidal Silver is not effective, there wouldn't be
anything to advertise in the first place as it will be avoided by the
masses. You cannot stop good products from reaching the hands of people
who loves them. The following is a collection of frequently asked
questions about Colloidal Silver.
1. What is Colloidal Silver?
Colloidal is a term describing a substance containing
particles so small they remain suspended in liquid or gas.
Colloidal particles, unlike dissolved particles in a
suspension, stay in solution and retain their whole form and qualities.
Colloidal silver is the result of an electromagnetic process
that pulls microscopic particles from silver into a liquid, such as distilled
water
2. How Does Colloidal Silver Work?
Colloidal silver works as a catalyst. A catalyst is best
described as a substance that brings about (causes) a reaction or occurrence,
without itself participating or being consumed.
The Silver Institute, in a 1996 monograph entitled "The
Development and Functions of Silver in Water Purification and Disease
Control", discussed three mechanisms of deactivation that silver utilizes
to incapacitate disease causing organisms. They are:
1. Catalytic Oxidation
Silver, in its
atomic state, has the capacity to absorb oxygen and act as a catalyst to bring
about oxidation.
Atomic (nascent) oxygen absorbed onto the surface of silver
ions in solution will readily react with the sulfhydryl (-S-H) groups
surrounding the surface of bacteria or viruses to remove the hydrogen atoms (as
water), causing the sulfur atoms to form an R-S-S-R bond; blocking respiration
and causing the bacteria to expire.
Employing a simple catalytic reduction/oxidation reaction,
colloidal silver will react with any negative charge presented by the organism's
transport or membrane proteins and deactivate them.
2. Reaction With Bacterial Cell Membranes
Silver ions attach to membrane surface radicals of bacteria,
impairing cell respiration and blocking its energy transfer system.
Specific enzymes are required for a given biochemical
activity to take place.
Enzyme molecules usually require a specific metallic atom as
part of the molecular matrix in order to function.
A metal of higher valance can replace a metal of lower
valance in the enzyme complex, preventing the enzyme from functioning normally.
Silver, with a valance of plus 2, can replace many metals
with a lower, or equal valance that exhibit weaker atomic bonding properties.
3. Binding With DNA
Studies with Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, a tenacious bacteria
that is difficult to treat, demonstrated that as much as 12% of silver is taken
up by the organism's DNA.
Silver binds to the DNA without destroying the hydrogen
bonds holding the lattice together, it prevents the DNA from unwinding, an
essential step for cellular replication to occur.
Since silver kills only bacteria that is anaerobic or
nitrogen breathing, the friendly bacteria in the digestive tract are immune to
it due to the fact that they are oxygen breathing, (aerobic)
3. History Of Colloidal Silver.
The Greeks, Romans & others used silver vessels for
water and other liquids to keep them fresh.
The Egyptians used silver as a thin beaten paper-like
product and wrapped it around wounds to avoid infection.
Ancient families who ate from silver utensils rarely
were sick and had few infections
Generations ago, pioneers trekking across the Wild West in
the
US
faced many hardships. Keeping safe drinking water was one of them.
Bacteria, algae, etc., found a fertile breeding ground in
wooden casks, which were carried by the wagons.
They placed silver coins in the casks to retard the growth
of the spoilage organisms.
They also placed silver coins in their milk to keep it fresh.
Settlers in the Australian outback suspended silverware in
the water tanks to retard spoilage.
Wrapping wounds in silver foil was a common treatment around
the turn of the century to prevent infection.
Eventually, man learned to make silver nitrate and use it in
wounds as an antibiotic. But silver nitrate is a silver salt and is caustic,
and therefore burns tissue, much like iodine.
These early, unstable and crudely made silver solutions were
sometimes injected directly into the body, taken orally or applied topically.
Remarkably, there were no significant side effects.
Silver in the Colloidal Form
The comeback of silver in medicine began in the 1970’s
Carl Moyer, chairman of
Washington
University’s
Department of Surgery, received a grant to develop better treatments for burn
victims. Dr. Harry Margraf, as the chief biochemist, worked with Dr. Moyer and
other surgeons to find an antiseptic strong enough, yet safe to use over large
areas of the body.
Silver has always been one of the most universal antibiotic
substances.
When administered in the colloidal form, it is non-toxic.
Medical journal reports from the early 1900’s demonstrated
that a properly prepared colloid of silver was the only form of silver solution
that was not deposited under the skin, no matter how many times the proper
amount was administered.
Jim Powell reported in a Science Digest article in March
1978, titled “Our Mightiest Germ Fighter”:
“Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a
wonder of modern medicine. An antibiotic kills perhaps half-dozen different
disease organisms, but silver kills hundreds. Additionally, silver-resistant
strains fail to develop”.
Modern ionization technology was developed by (NASA) in the
early days of the space program as a lightweight method of purifying recycled
water on spacecrafts.
In the
United States
and
Canada,
more than 100 hospitals have installed silver-based water purifying systems to
eradicate Legionnaire’s disease, a deadly bacteria that infects hot water pipes
and storage tanks in large buildings.
Antibiotic resistance is quickly becoming a public health
nightmare. Traditional antibiotics continue to lose their ability to kill
certain strains of bacteria. To date, nearly every disease causing organism
known has become resistant to at least one antibiotic, and several are immune
to more than one. Scientists have known since the dawn of antibiotic age that
the more an antibiotic is used, the quicker it tends to become useless due to
bacterial resistance.
4. Safety Issues.
Colloidal silver is tasteless, odorless, won’t sting, and
won’t upset the stomach.
There are no known side effects whatsoever in animals
or humans.
It contains no free radicals, as the silver acts as a catalyst and
is stabilized.
Since silver kills only bacteria that is anaerobic or
nitrogen breathing, the friendly bacteria in the digestive tract are immune to
it due to the fact that they are oxygen breathing, (aerobic).
Colloidal silveris not a chemical compound containing silver, but pure (99.999
%) silver in a colloid form, held in suspension, in pure
steam-distilled water, by the tiny electric charge on each atom.
5. Test Reports.
Tested by Singapore TUV SUD PSB Pte Ltd. The difference between a professional company and an individual out to make a fast buck lies in the willingness to invest in professional testing of their products.
Even if test reports are available, a consumer needs to scrutinize the details, such as the product name, company name and the correlation of the products. It is easy to locate reports that bears no relationship to the products marketed. Let buyers beware!
6. Uses of Colloidal Silver.
Many people claim that Colloidal Silver is a Miracle liquid that can "cure" every diseases on earth. All we want to maintain is that it can eliminate all types of Bacteria, Virus, and Fungus.
We personally have success cases of customers using Colloidal Silver to "manage" cancer, HIV and a lot of other diseases. However, do you believe us?
The best answer is to try Colloidal Silver yourself and you will satisfy your own curiosity.
7. Facts About Colloidal Silver.
FDA has ruled that it can only be described as a mineral
supplement or dietary supplement.
“Medical Journal Reports and documented studies spanning 100
years, indicate no known side effects from properly manufactured colloidal
silver in animal or human testing. There has never been a reported reaction
with colloidal silver and any prescription medication…” - The Association for
Colloidal Research
Chemically produced colloidal silver causes Argyria.
Colloidal silver was widely used in the early 1900's. Scientists at the time
discovered that if they CHEMICALLY COMBINED the silver colloid with a protein,
it would not only be better digested, they could produce it in greater
concentration.
This led to silver nitrate and silver salts. Before the
early 1900's there had never been any negative side effects with ingesting
silver, so testing the toxicity was not a big concern. But before the toxicity
was tested, doctors at the time had already begun to use it on their patients.
As we know now, silver nitrate and other silver salts
were toxic in high doses. It caused Argyria, a cosmetic bluing or graying of
the skin produced by a build-up of un-dissolved silver particles in the
tissues.
All silver salts are identified as toxic, although the only
adverse effect noted is Argyria. Therefore, the concern is with silver
salts NOT colloidal silver.
Colloidal silver is non-toxic, non-addictive, and has no
side effects, UNLESS you are allergic to silver.
The body develops no tolerance
to colloidal silver and one cannot overdose.
If you are allergic to silver, do NOT use Colloidal Silver
8. Will Colloidal Silver Turn Me Blue?
The Blue Man Fraud
By now nearly everyone has seen the story about Paul Karason
who the news media has dubbed "The Blue Man". Although the news media
has continually said that he was taking colloidal silver, nothing could be
further from the truth. The Blue Man story became a major media disinformation
event which was produced by a public relations firm and paid for by a
pharmaceutical interest. The purpose of this campaign was to scare the public
away from using colloidal silver products. The tactic was to claim that the
Blue Man's condition was caused by his use of colloidal silver thus
implying that anyone who uses colloidal silver would suffer a similar fate. The
entire story as presented is a study in blatant misrepresentation. The fact is
that Paul has a condition called argyria that turns the skin a blue-gray color.
He got this condition by taking his homemade silver compound that was
mostly a highly concentrated ionic silver solution. When he prepared the
solution he believed he was making colloidal silver. He was not making
colloidal silver. To make the solution even more dangerous, he added salt
to the brew and then used electrolysis to make a high concentration of silver
chloride with large particles which is well known to cause argyria. He further
applied the compound to his skin causing him to become an internal and external
photographic plate. To finish himself off, he used a tanning bed to
"fix" the silver in his body. The moral of the story is to know the
difference between true colloidal silver and ionic silver or silver proteins,
and don't try to make either at home!
The Blue Man charade demonstrates once again that the mass
media cannot be trusted to report anything that even resembles a truthful
"news" story. All "news" today is propagated with an agenda
just like the phony economic statistics put out by the
U.S. government.
